On Wednesday 20th July we attended an Open Day at Our Health Meadow in University Hospital Llandough. Amongst the beautiful greenery, we welcomed artist Dilys Jackson to the site to unveil her Pollen Form sculpture.

Mike Jones, Independent Member of Cardiff and Vale University Health Board thanked Dilys for the addition of her sculpture to the site. Dilys Jackson is one of Wales’ foremost sculptors with a national and international reputation for creating Bronze and Stone sculptures, installations and exquisite drawings. Her work can be found in collections and venues across the UK and we are delighted to have been able to commission Dilys to create this magnificent Pollen Form for Our Health Meadow.

Dilys was born in Sri Lanka, studied at the Slade School of Fine Art and has had an illustrious career in the arts. She has been awarded numerous commissions and artist residencies in several countries, and has also worked as a Head Teacher, an environmental arts manager and has taught with special schools at the National Museum Wales.

Dilys has supported our Arts Programme at the Health Board on a number of occasions, sharing our belief in the power of the creative arts to improve our wellbeing and bringing people together.

We would like to thank Dilys for creating the signature sculptural piece for Our Health Meadow which we know will inspire our patients, staff, visitors and wider community.

The sculpture can be seen at the entrance of Our Health Meadow, University Hospital Llandough.
