Spring in Wales is one of the prettiest seasons, with blooming flowers and warming temperatures ranging from 5 to 16 degrees Celsius. Ein Berllan – Our Orchard at University Hospital Llandough is looking especially beautiful this time of year.
Spring is a great time to take a walk and explore Ein Berllan – Our Orchard when everything starts to bud and bloom.
Ein Berllan – Our Orchard is full of life in spring, as trees regain their leaves and flowers bloom. If you take a walk in early spring, you will see many flowers, such as snowdrops and crocuses.
Later in the season, carpets of bluebells can be seen. In late spring the tulips bloom – and of course during spring, you will see daffodils – one of our national emblems.
Spring is a time of change when winter visiting birds depart and other birds return to Wales to nest. Species including swallows, chiffchaffs and house martins can be spotted. Birds will be courting a mate and singing a song. Then they gather materials for their nests and later on the young birds emerge.
Spring is going to be a very exciting time for Ein Berllan – Our Orchard as Cardiff & Vale Health Charity entering the RHS Cardiff Show in the Blossoming Beds Competition. You can find out more about our entry by reading our RHS Cardiff Blog.
